We are implementing the planned management of broad tracts of company-owned forests in Japan, based on the principle of "sustainable forestry" whereby trees are planted, forests are cultivated, the resulting wood is utilized as a resource, and the harvested areas are replanted. As well as being involved in the supply of timber, we are also engaged in numerous other businesses to help find solutions to environmental problems.

Sumitomo Forestry is making use of the skills and expertise it has developed in managing its company-owned forests by preserving and cultivating forests in various areas around the world.
With cooperation from local governments, businesses and environmental groups, we develop industrial tree plantations to produce timber and offer consulting to private businesses regarding planting efforts.
