We are conducting research and development in a wide range of fields,
from materials to housing construction methods, renovation technology,
and labor saving. We conduct quality inspections of materials handled by Sumitomo Forestry,
providing highly reliable materials backed by data and supporting the improvement of building quality.
Supporting improvement and development through cooperation with business divisions
At the request of various business divisions, we test building materials and components and perform the verification and technical support necessary for commercialization and quality improvement.
Testing new materials
Materials being considered for new use by a division undergo testing not only for Japanese and international standards but also company standards. If the material does not meet the criteria, verification is performed again with improved material.
Formulation and maintenance of quality standards and regular inspections
We formulate the quality standards that accompany the development of new materials, review current standards, and regularly perform sampling inspections of the adopted materials. For materials requiring long-term performance, we perform accelerated testing and outdoor exposure testing and also evaluate from the correlation.
Investigating the cause of inquiries and identifying substances
We respond to all inquiries brought in from group companies, conduct surveys and analyzes, investigate causes and identify substances.
