Purpose and Scope of application

Based on the Corporate Philosophy and Our Values, the Sumitomo Forestry Group will conduct its business operations, including its supply chain, in accordance with this Code of Conduct.

Fair and transparent business activities

  1. Compliance with laws and regulations

    We will comply with domestic and international laws and regulations as well as our company rules, and respect international Code of Conduct.

  2. Anti-corruption

    We will not engage in any corrupt practices, including bribery, embezzlement, or money laundering.

  3. Fair trading

    We will not engage in any suspicious activities such as cartels or collusion and will conduct fair transactions.

  4. Fair accounting practices

    We will conduct fair accounting and tax treatment based on accurate records.

  5. Communication with stakeholders

    We will consider the interests of shareholders and other stakeholders, disclose necessary information in a timely and fair manner, and engage in dialogue with them.

    We ensure the protection of our own and third party confidential information.

    We will ensure appropriate information security to prevent information leaks, etc.

  8. Relationships with Business Partners

    We will not engage in inappropriate conduct, such as the abuse of a dominant bargaining position, and will build and maintain constructive relationships with business partners.

  9. Protection of intellectual property

    We will protect our own intellectual property and will not infringe on the rights of others.

  10. Protection of Personal Information

    We will properly manage personal information, not use it for any other purpose, and prevent leaks.

    We will not have any involvement with anti-social forces.

  14. Establishment of a reporting system

    We will set up a hotline that can be used when a violation of laws, regulations, or this Code of Conduct is suspected. Reports can be made anonymously, and we will strictly prohibit sanctions against whistleblowers, and encourage their active use.

    We will clearly distinguish between public and private matters and will not engage in any conduct that may cause a conflict of interest with the company.

    We do not use company expenses or assets for personal purposes.
