A value chain centered on "wood"
"WOOD CYCLE"
Sumitomo Forestry Group is engaged in a wide range of global businesses centered on wood, including forestry management; the manufacture and distribution of wood building materials; the construction of single-family homes and medium- to large-scale wooden buildings; real estate development; and wood biomass power generation. This unique value chain is represented in a diagram called "WOOD CYCLE."
By operating this "WOOD CYCLE," which means increasing the amount of CO₂ absorbed by forests, promoting carbon storage in wood, and carbon storage over the long term in wooden constructions, we can contribute to decarbonized society. Through this entire business, we will contribute not only to our own company's CO₂ absorption and sequestration but also to society as a whole.
